Strategic Health Group’s Hank Oso ws ki Named to Two Leadership Panels at the Medicaid Market Innovations Forum February 5-7 in Orlando

(BURBANK, Calif. – January 22, 2013) — Hank Osowski, managing director of Strategic Health Group, will be part of two expert panels at the Medicaid Innovations Forum February 5-7 in Orlando, Florida. The Forum is one of the nation’s most highly regarded annual meetings for those who want to share ideas and learn about innovations that promote performance improvement and transformation in Medicaid.

On February 6, Osowski will be part of a panel of industry leaders that will focus on the post-election implications for dual eligibles (those individuals on both Medicaid and Medicare) as well as Medicaid expansion, plan revenue and strategies for success. Entitled “Evaluating the Implications of the 2012 Election on the Future of Medicaid,” Osowski and his fellow presenters will provide attendees an important look at the changing environment and what organizations need to know to meet their business objectives while better serving individuals on Medicaid.

Later that day Osowski will be part of a panel that will explore the challenges and opportunities for Medicaid plans considering participation in newly formed health insurance exchanges. A key part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, all states are mandated to build and launch their own health insurance exchange by January 1, 2014, or default to a Federal fallback program. The panel, “Health Insurance Exchanges: Shifting Your Thinking from Medicaid to Commercial Operations,” will also explore how the infrastructure challenges facing exchanges will impact plan participation.

A frequent speaker and author on critical issues facing Medicaid and Medicare, Osowski has provided leadership to commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans for more than three decades. Prior to co-founding Strategic Health Group in 2011 with partner Dennis Eder, Osowski served as senior vice president of corporate development for SCAN Health Plan, the nation’s fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan. Osowski has also served as a member of the senior management team at Blue Cross of California and as a principal in a national healthcare consulting organization providing a range of strategic, financial and development services for health plans, physician groups and hospitals.

The Medicaid Market Innovations Forum will be held February 5-7 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Spa in Orlando, Florida. With a healthy balance of state and health plan perspectives represented, the 2013 annual conference continues a tradition of excellence that is acknowledged as being the most information-rich and valuable event for those who seek peer-tested practical solutions they can implement immediately.
