Dennis Eder
Senior Advisor
Dennis Eder, a Founding Member and Senior Advisor of Strategic Health Group, is a financial and operational executive with more than 30 years of experience with some of the nation’s leading health plans, integrated delivery systems, third party administrators and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Prior to co-founding Strategic Health Group, Dennis was the Chief Financial Officer of SCAN Health Plan. During his eight year tenure as CFO, SCAN added over $1 billion to its asset base without incurring any indebtedness and grew to being the fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage organization in the country. Under his leadership, he rebuilt SCAN’s entire financial infrastructure and for those efforts was recognized in 2008 as “CFO of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
From 1984 until 1998, Dennis served in various operational and financial executive positions (including CFO and vice president- treasury) for UniHealth America, the nationally recognized $3.5 billion integrated delivery system headquartered in the Los Angeles area. He later served as CFO and then Chief Executive Officer for 250,000-member CareAmerica Health Plans, husbanding the transition of ownership of CareAmerica to Blue Shield of California.
Dennis’ career has also included serving as executive vice president and CFO at Long Term Care Group, the largest administrator of long-term care insurance in the U.S. and as CFO at Alpha Therapeutic Corporation, a biopharma company where he played an instrumental role in selling the company. He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served clients in diverse industries.
Dennis holds an MBA and BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MA from the University of Chicago.
